Between September 1996 and June 1998 one hundred adults who wanted to improve their writing skills joined the Next Step Project in the North West of Northern Ireland. The project was set up by the Verbal Arts Centre to give adult learners new opportunities to give adult learners new opportunities to work on their writing skills by using words creatively to express thoughts and feelings and to tell and share their stories and ideas. In this book you will be able to hear what the journey into words was like for some of the learners who took part in the Next Step Project.
